Harry Cotler, DPM
Dr. Cotler graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey with his Bachelor of Science degree in 1982. He then attended the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and obtained his “Doctor of Podiatric Medicine” license. After graduating in 1986, he was involved in a very extensive podiatric medicine and surgical preceptorship program. With this knowledge, Dr. Cotler felt comfortable going into private practice. He then relocated to Florida and opened up his first office in downtown Miami.
While in Florida, Dr. Cotler was on staff at Mt. Sinai, Cedars and Universal Medical Centers. He was also very active with the medical staff. In addition to being involved professionally with his peers, he also found time to be an adjunct faculty member and clinical instructor for the Barry University school of Podiatry. When the students were in their third year of training, they would rotate through Mt. Sinai’s clinic. The students were responsible for evaluating and working-up a patient as if they were being seen in their offices. This would require screenings for laboratory, diagnostic tests, surgery, etc. Always under the direct supervision of Dr. Cotler. Dr. Cotler was also a member of the Broward County Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Podiatric Medical Association.
In 1993 Dr. Cotler became a Board Certified Diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine.
It was also this year that Dr. Cotler relocated to Soldotna, Alaska. Shortly after arriving and obtaining his license, he was able to open up his office. He is on staff at Central Peninsula General Hospital. In addition to having his primary office in Soldotna, Dr. Cotler has also held clinics in Cordova, Kodiak, and Valdez.
Dr. Cotler is always on the forefront of podiatric medicine and surgery. He attends numerous educational seminars focusing on the latest techniques and advancements within the field of Podiatry. He also tries to maintain a modern and comfortable office. He is still a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and also the Alaska State Association.
Dr. Cotler is married to Alissa Paige Cotler. Kaila Dvora was born in 1990 and Seth Jordan was born in 2002. He is a family man and is very dedicated to his wife and children. He and his family welcome you to his practice.
