While in Florida, Dr. Cotler
was on staff at Mt. Sinai, Cedars and Universal Medical Centers. He was
also very active with the medical staff. In addition to being involved
professionally with his peers, he also found time to be an adjunct faculty
member and clinical instructor for the Barry University school of Podiatry.
When the students were in their third year of training, they would rotate
thru Mt. Sinai’s clinic. The students were responsible for evaluating and
working-up a patient as if they were being seen in their offices. This
would require screenings for laboratory, diagnostic tests, surgery, etc.
Always under the direct supervision of Dr. Cotler. Dr. Cotler was also a
member of the Broward County Podiatric Medical Association, and the American
Podiatric Medical Association.
In 1993 Dr. Cotler became a Board
Certified Diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and a
Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine.
It was also this year that
Dr. Cotler relocated to Soldotna, Alaska. Shortly after arriving and
obtaining his license, he was able to open up his office. He is on staff at
Central Peninsula General Hospital.
In addition to having his primary
office in Soldotna, he also travels every two months to Valdez and holds
clinic at
Providence
Valdez Medical Center within their out
patient clinic.
Dr. Cotler is always on the forefront
of podiatric medicine and surgery. He attends numerous educational seminars
focusing on the latest techniques and advancements within the field of
Podiatry. He also tries to maintain a modern and comfortable office. He is
still a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and also the
Alaska State Association.
Dr. Cotler is married to
Alissa Paige Cotler. Kaila Dvora Cotler was born on July 11th, 1990
and Seth Jordan Cotler was born on August 30th,
2002. He is a family man and is very dedicated to his wife and children.
